Applying for a Grant

The Community Foundation of Greater Greenville awards grants to IRS qualified charities. In 2003, the Community Foundation and its donors awarded over 1,100 grants totaling more than $3.3 million.

Grantmaking by the Community Foundation
  • Community Enrichment Grants are awarded annually on a competitive basis. Grants are available to nonprofit organizations that serve Greenville County. Click here for more information on our 2005 Community Enrichment Grants.

  • The Hollingsworth Funds, Inc. has a competitive grant process that is administered by the Community Foundation. The distribution of these funds is determined by the Hollingsworth Funds, Inc. Board of Directors. Click here for more information on the Hollingsworth Funds, Inc. Grants.

  • The Community Foundation of Greater Greenville serves as Trustee of the Walter Johnson Trust overseeing the administration and allocation of the funds. Grantmaking through Advised Funds

  • Many families have established Donor Advised Funds at the Community Foundation. The donors who establish these funds retain the ability to recommend grants to any 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. Applications for distributions are not accepted for these funds.
