Hollingsworth Funds Grants Criteria

Proposal Process:
The Hollingsworth Funds is using the Community Foundation of Greenville to help administer it's community wide competitive grants application program. A charitable organization may apply for funding from the Hollingsworth Funds by submitting the following grant application, including all required attachments to the Community Foundation of Greenville (Incomplete applications will not be considered).

The competitive proposal process considers each submitted grant application.  The Community Foundation reviews each application to ensure that it is complete and verifies that the application is from a qualified charity that operates primarily for the benefit of residents of Greenville County.  The Board of Directors of the Hollingsworth Funds will then determine which applications to fund based on the amount of income it has to distribute, the number of applications it receives, and the impact its funding can have on the quality of life for residents of Greenville County.  In some instances, a grant applicant may be asked to give a brief presentation to the Hollingsworth Funds Board or a committee it designates to assist it in evaluating grant applications.   Because of the wide range of charities it can support and its limited annual income, the Hollingsworth Funds will not be able to fund many of the worthwhile applications it receives.

To submit a request for funding, a charitable organization must deliver or mail two (2) complete application packets to the Community Foundation of Greenville, 27 Cleveland St., Suite 101, Greenville, SC  29601. The application deadline is 4:00 pm on Friday, September 5, 2008.  All applicants will be notified of their status by December 31, 2008.

A 501(c)(3) charitable organization can submit one (1) grant application per year for either Capital Request Funding OR for Program Funding for charitable uses within Greenville County, South Carolina, or for the benefit of residents of Greenville County.

2008 Program/Project Grants Requests
Hollingsworth Funds, Inc. is committed to the responsible allocation of its grant awards and will strive to ensure that it does not supplant giving already available in the community.   A 501(c)(3) charitable organization can submit one grant application per year for an amount not to exceed $50,000 to fund innovative projects for the benefit of charitable uses within Greenville County, South Carolina, or for the benefit of residents of Greenville County.
