The Community Foundation uses income from its unrestricted endowments to make grants to charitable initiatives in Greenville County.
In addition, the Foundation awards grants on a competitive basis to 501(c) (3) charitable organizations located within or offering services to the citizens of Greenville County, South Carolina on an annual basis.
· The Foundation will not make grants to individuals.
· The Foundation will make grants for capacity building.
· The Foundation will give low grant making priority to capital fund projects.
· The Foundation will review each request carefully to ensure that projects do not overlap or duplicate existing agencies or services.
· The Foundation will thoroughly review the requesting organization’s ability to succeed in the project, including evaluation of its budget, Board of Directors, staffing capability and experience.
· The Foundation emphasizes post-grant evaluation of funded projects to determine the difference made in the community.
